Privacy Policy

Last updated May 2026

The short version: ionmetro does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Your settings are stored locally on your device and never leave it. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads.

1. Who We Are

ionmetro is an iOS metronome application developed and published independently. You can reach us at info@ionul.com or through ionmetro.com.

This policy applies to the ionmetro iOS app and the ionmetro.com website.

2. Data We Collect

We collect nothing. ionmetro has no backend server, no user accounts, no telemetry, and no third-party analytics SDKs. The app never makes a network request on your behalf.

The only storage the app uses is your device's local UserDefaults to remember your last-used settings between sessions.

Setting Where it lives Shared externally?
Tempo (BPM) Local only Never
Time signature Local only Never
Subdivision Local only Never
Sound preset Local only Never
Volume level Local only Never
Analytics / crash reports Not collected Never
Device identifiers Not collected Never
Location data Not collected Never

3. System Permissions

ionmetro uses one iOS system resource:

Audio output. The app activates the device audio session in order to play metronome click sounds. It uses Apple's AVAudioSession with the .playback category and .mixWithOthers option, so it can play alongside music from other apps (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) without interrupting them. No audio is ever recorded or transmitted.

4. Third-Party Services

ionmetro does not integrate any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics services, or social login providers. The app contains no tracking code of any kind.

The App Store listing is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple may collect standard app usage metrics through the App Store platform itself, which is outside our control.

5. Cookies & Website

The ionmetro.com website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts. It is a static informational site.

6. Children's Privacy

ionmetro does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in their jurisdiction). Because we collect no personal information at all, ionmetro is safe for use by people of all ages.

7. Data Security

Because ionmetro does not collect or transmit any personal data, there is no data of yours to secure on our end. Your local device settings are protected by your device's own operating-system security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).

8. Your Rights

Under privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Since ionmetro holds no personal data about you, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete.

If you wish to clear the settings stored locally on your device, you can delete and reinstall the app, which will reset all UserDefaults.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's functionality changes in a way that affects data handling. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We will never introduce data collection without updating this policy first.

10. Contact
